Ahmed has 10 years of post article experience in financial accounting (IFRS and similar) and presenting financial accounting to postgraduate students and the profession. Ahmed is a professor and the subject head of Financial Accounting at the University of Johannesburg. He heads up a team of 27 professional staff and presents Advanced Financial Accounting (IFRS) to the CTA students at the University of Johannesburg. He also presents on the Gauteng Board Course and the APT APC course. He is an author of several publications and books, and makes regular presentations (academic, CPD and technical). He has participated in several academic accreditation reviews and international reciprocity reviews. He is a CA (SA), having obtained his BCOM Accounting degree cum laude, his BCOM Accounting (Honours) degree cum laude, a Top 10 position in the SAICA qualifying exam and his MCom International Accounting degree cum laude. He was a member of the Council of UJ and holds directorships in various training companies. He is a current member of the Accounting Practices Committee of SAICA.
