If you are in manufacturing, construction and mining, retail, health and other insurance, or any other industry for that matter, are you aware of the applications of having more and more devices that can connect to the internet? What if you could get live data of the health, water levels and fertiliser levels of an agricultural crop at the touch of a button? What would it mean for an emergency medical response service company if you had an application telling you not only what is the closest hospital in the event of an accident, whether or not it has space, and then reroute an ambulance to follow the fastest route to get there? In this case study, we will be exploring the application of IoT in a construction and agriculture group and through this case study aim to expose users to the management and financial accounting, as well as taxation and audit impacts that will arise from a world where everything is connected online.
